Govt working to make Himachal self-reliant, says CPS

Speaking at the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme in Sohar panchayat of the Sandhol area yesterday, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS), Public Works, Health and Family Welfare, Information and Public Relations Department, Sanjay Awasthi said the state government is working to build a self-reliant Himachal and it is important to strengthen the economy of rural areas.
The CPS said in the Budget, the Chief Minister has worked for improving the economy of rural areas. He said that the Budget has been prepared for the bright future of the state.
On the occasion, Dharampur MLA Chandrer Shekhar accompanied him. Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan and officials from various departments were present in the programme.
The event was organised to address the issues of 16 panchayats, including Neri, Sohar, Datwad, Ghanala, Gawela, Torkhola, Devgarh, Bhadehar, Bairi, Kothuwan, Dhalara, Bhur, Winga and Saklana, of the Sandhol area under the Dharampur subdivision of the district.
The CPS listened to grievances of the people and gave necessary directions to the officials to resolve their issues. Around 40 issues and around 105 demand proposals were raised during the programme. The CPS assured the residents to resolve their problems on the spot and take appropriate action on the demand proposals.
Awasthi instructed the officials to work at the grassroots level to solve the problems of the public. Besides, he asked them to prepare and submit a department-wise detailed report on various demands at the earliest.
During the event, issues related to revenue, roads, bus services, disaster relief and rural development were taken up.
He said the amount required to complete the remaining construction work of the Civil Hospital, Sandhol, building will be provided soon. He also assured to fill the vacant posts of doctor, including gynaecologist, at the hospital on a priority basis.
“The CM has been focusing on the strengthening education and health facilities and decisive steps have been taken in this regard,” he added.
“The state government will fulfil all the expectations of the people. It is making all-out efforts to provide health facilities to the people on their doorstep. The prime objective is to serve the common man at the grassroots level,” said Awasthi.
He also instructed the officials to provide the benefits of the schemes to the eligible people.
MLA Chander Shekhar apprised the CPS of development works being carried out in the area. He said the CM has ensured that the Dharampur area does not face fund crunch for carrying out development works. He said emphasis is being laid on strengthening the education and health sector in the area, along with improving sports facilities.
On road infrastructure, the MLA said during his visit to Dharampur on January 25, the CM gave Rs 10 crore each to upgrade the Sandhol-Dharampur road that passes via Sidhpur and the Sandhol-Kothuan-Madhi-Dharampur road.
During the programme, stalls were set up by all the departments to highlight the public welfare schemes of the government. A health check-up camp was also organised on the occasion.
