Shemrock Roses School, Kachighati, Shimla, celebrated ‘Grandparents’ Day’ with pomp and show. On the occasion, the children gave gifts to their grandparents. Speaking on the occasion, the school Principal, Preeti Chuttani, said grandparents were libraries as well as game centres for children. She advised children to ensure that they spend time with their grandparents.

Register for PM scholarship scheme

Registration process for Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) has started and the applicants can fill up online application for the academic year 2022-23 till October 31 on the website www.scholarships.gov.in. The scheme provides a total of 500 scholarships — 250 for girls and 250 for boys — to the wards of police personnel who were martyred during a terror/naxal attack. The last date for verification by the states/UTs police nodal officer is November 30. The scheme provides a financial assistance of Rs 36,000 for each girl and Rs 30,000 for each boy for pursuing their first professional/technical course in the field of engineering, medical, dental, veterinary, BBA, BCA, BPharma, BSc (nursing/ agriculture), etc. from the recognised government regulatory bodies in the country.

ABVP demands parking facility

The ABVP submitted a memorandum to the Principal of Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shimla, demanding parking facility on the college premises. The students’ body also demanded the construction of a laboratory in the college and proper cleaning of science block and washrooms. The principal assured the students that their demands would looked into.
