Manoj Dogra, Deputy Commissioner, State Excise and Taxation, Bilaspur, said the department had recovered a fine of Rs 37.95 lakh.

He said the recovered amount was deposited in the state exchequer. He said the stock was shipped from Jalpaigudi in West Bangal to Mandi in the state. Since the supplier of the stock was not registered in the state, a temporary registration was done to recover the amount, he added.
