Krishan Bhoj, vice-president of the Panchayat Samiti Drang block and a representative of the Gujjar community, issued a firm statement denouncing the incident in strong words. “What happened with Tehsildar Hari Singh Yadav is deeply shameful and unacceptable. Such behaviour not only hurts the sentiments of the Gujjar community but also brings disgrace to the entire state of Himachal Pradesh, which is otherwise known for its peaceful culture and traditions,” Bhoj said.

The Gujjar community expressed deep concern over the use of abusive language and alleged manhandling of Tehsildar Yadav, calling it “highly condemnable and intolerable.” Members of the community emphasised that administrative differences, if any, should be addressed through legal and official channels, and not through public shaming or physical aggression.

“Even if there was an error or misunderstanding on the part of the Tehsildar, there were proper constitutional and administrative ways to deal with the matter,” Bhoj stated. “Resorting to violence or disrespectful behavior, especially towards a magistrate-level officer, is not justified under any circumstance.”

While reiterating their respect for the local Dev Samaj, its customs and spiritual traditions, the Gujjar community clarified that they cannot endorse any form of misconduct or violence against an individual or group. “We fully honour the legacy and values of Dev Bhoomi Himachal, but actions that tarnish the dignity of a person or a community must be opposed,” Bhoj said.

He highlighted the historical and ongoing contributions of the Gujjar community at local, national and global levels. “Such incidents not only hurt individuals but also affect the collective dignity of communities who have always stood for the nation’s progress,” he said.

As the incident continues to draw attention, calls are growing for a fair and thorough investigation into the matter to ensure accountability and prevent such occurrences in the future.
