On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, BJP state president Rajeev Bindal talked about the unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh’s sons.

Addressing multiple events, Bindal highlighted how the bravery of young Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, who chose death over forced religious conversion, continues to inspire generations.

Bindal recounted the harrowing tale of how the young sons of Guru Gobind Singh were entombed alive by the forces of Aurangzeb for refusing to renounce their faith.

He described Guru Gobind Singh as the greatest martyr in history, whose family gave up their lives for the protection of religion and the nation.

“The sacrifice of all four sons of Guru Gobind Singh is a testament to their unparalleled valour and unwavering faith, a story unmatched in the annals of history,” said Bindal. He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to institutionalise Veer Bal Diwas as a reminder of India’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

He said the day instilled a sense of sacrifice, perseverance and dedication among the youth, aligning with the values that build a strong nation. Across the state, Veer Bal Diwas was celebrated in 171 mandals, including three prominent events in Vikrambagh-Deoni, Nahan city, and Majra within the Nahan constituency. Bindal, along with district president Vinay Gupta and former mandal president Pratap Thakur, participated in these events, paying homage to the historic contributions of Guru Gobind Singh.

Reflecting on the Guru’s association with Sirmaur, Dr Bindal recounted how Guru Gobind Singh was welcomed by the erstwhile ruler Raja Medni Prakash and stayed for four and a half months in Nahan. The guru later established Paonta Sahib and Bhaghani Sahib Gurdwaras along the Yamuna River.

Programmes were held across Sirmaur to mark the day, honouring the guru’s legacy and the sacrifices of his sons.
