Guv flags off vehicle with relief material to Tandi
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today flagged off a vehicle carrying relief material for the families affected by the massive fire in Tandi village of Banjar sub-division in Kullu district.
Shukla flagged off the vehicle arranged through the State Red Cross from Raj Bhavan here today. Expressing grief over the fire incident, he said the fire has destroyed the heritage of the place which cannot be replaced.
He said relief operations were being carried out in Tandi village and the Red Cross has sent blankets, tarpaulins, kitchen sets, family tents, etc. for the affected people.
He said vehicles carrying winter relief material were also being sent to other districts, including Kinnaur, Shimla, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Una.
Secretary to Governor CP Verma and State Red Cross officials were also present on the occasion.
