Shimla, July 25
Himachal Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar paid tribute to the gallant Indian Army soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil war on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26.
In his message, the Governor said, “The vigour and valour of the Indian Army in the Kargil War has been unparalleled and the whole nation stands beholden to the Kargil Heroes of the Indian Army”.
He said that Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed to pay homage to those Kargil war heroes, who “sacrificed their today for our tomorrow”.
“On this day, we stand in salute to those martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice and have secured for our Kargil brethren free existence and peaceful life,” the Governor said.
The Governor said that the contribution of brave soldiers in the service of the nation was incomparable. Himachal Pradesh is known as Veer Bhoomi.
“The supreme sacrifice made by Saheed Vikram Batra and other great martyrs cannot be compensated, but we can get inspiration by remembering the sacrifice made by him. The nation will always be indebted to him for this sacrifice”, the Governor added.
