The district police received a fleet of four new advanced surveillance vehicles here on Friday. They got two electric vehicles of TATA company while a Scorpio and one Toyota Cresta vehicles for prompt action.

SP Balbir Singh Thakur said that two vehicles would help in prompt response to 112 emergency calls while two other vehicles would help in highway patrolling. He added that these vehicles were equipped with modern traffic-management systems, speed-enforcement tools, rescue support equipment and 360° monitoring cameras.

He said that these vehicles would ensure quicker assistance to accident victims, improved road safety and a strong on-road police presence in the district. He added that the Hamirpur police were grateful to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for taking steps to strengthen the police infrastructure and supporting safer, smarter and more responsive policing.
