Devender Singh Banyal, NCC Officer, Government Senior Secondary School, Nalti, has bagged the second merit of order award during a month-long national refresher course, which commenced at Officers Training Academy (OTA) at Kamptee (Nagpur) in Maharashtra on November 6.
He was accorded a warm welcome by the NCC Commanding Officer here on Monday.
Col GP Singh, CO, NCC, said Banyal secured the second position overall, bringing pride to the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh Directorate.
He said Banyal was part of an extensive training programme that witnessed the participation of 520 NCC officers from across the country.
He added that participants were evaluated on a wide range of rigorous theoretical and practical modules, including parade drill, physical fitness and endurance, firing, field-craft and battle-craft, map reading, and subject-based written assessments.
Colonel Singh said the achievement highlighted not only Banyal’s personal commitment and hard work but also the high standards of training maintained by the Himachal Pradesh Battalion.
