Ojaswi Thakur, a Class VII student of Him Academy Public School, Vikas Nagar, was selected for the National Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan at the state-level competition held at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) here on Sunday.

The national level competition is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Government of India. For her achievement, Thakur was awarded a participation certificate and a cash prize of Rs 3,000. Speaking at the closing ceremony, NIT Director HM Suryavanshi said VVM was a national programme for popularising science among school students of classes VI-XI, conceptualised with the intent of identifying “ignited minds”, as said by Dr APJ Kalam.

The school management accorded a warm welcome to Ojaswi on her arrival at the school on Monday.
