Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today presided over a meeting with district officials to review the progress of ongoing developmental works in Haroli Assembly segment. He directed the officials to complete the construction work of the Dr Simmi Agnihotri Memorial Government Degree College building at Haroli on which a sum of Rs 16 crores is being spent. He said the work should be completed during the current financial year.

The Dy CM said the Haroli college will be a hub of higher education facilities for the youth of Haroli Assembly segment, adding that besides Bachelor’s degree courses in humanities, commerce, science and Fine Arts, post graduate and professional degree courses besides Certificate courses in different vocations will also be started from the coming academic session.

Agnihotri said a bridge over the Haroli Khad is being constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crores and Haroli will soon have a new bus stand at a cost of Rs 7 crores. He informed that a Rest House of the Jal Shakti Department is nearing completion in Haroli on which a sum of Rs 7 crore is being spent. He directed the departments concerned to ensure that the civil works are completed by March 31 this year.

The Dy CM said a decisive war against drugs has been launched by the law enforcement agencies and conduits, carrying substantial quantities of contraband are being arrested almost on a daily basis. He said a strict vigil is also being maintained against illegal mining, adding that drones have been pressed into service to monitor hot spots of illegal mining.
