Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today expressed profound grief over the martyrdom of Havildar Naval Kishore, a brave soldier from Jaloun village in Kotli tehsil of Mandi district. Havildar Kishore, who was deployed at the Siachen Glacier, made the supreme sacrifice while serving the nation yesterday.

Sukhu described the soldier's contribution to the country as unforgettable and emphasised that his sacrifice would always be remembered. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the family members to endure the immense loss.

Former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur also expressed his heartfelt condolences. The mortal remains of Havildar Naval Kishore are expected to arrive in Mandi via Chandigarh tomorrow. Additional District Magistrate Madan Kumar confirmed that the cremation of the soldier would be performed at his native village tomorrow. Meanwhile, people paid their respects to the martyr during a procession.
