Health camp for workers at Chamba Medical College
A free health check-up camp was organised for workers at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Chamba, at its under-construction campus at Sarol. The camp was conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Chamba, in collaboration with the Health Department. A total of 105 workers engaged in the construction work of the medical college underwent comprehensive health check-ups.
The camp provided free tests for blood pressure, blood sugar, HIV, Hepatitis B & C, syphilis and tuberculosis. After the check-ups, workers were also given free medicines.
Chamba Labour Welfare Officer Shweta Kumari said the primary objective of the camp was to provide essential healthcare services to workers in the unorganised sector and to educate them about health awareness. She also informed the workers about various welfare schemes run by the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board for their benefit.
The event saw the participation of Dr Kshitij and his medical team from the Health Department, along with employees from the Labour Welfare Board office in Chamba.
