Replying to a query during question hour, Health Minister Rajeev Saizal said the government was committed to protecting the interests of outsourced staff but their employer is the contractor.

“They have challenged the labour court order that states that their employer is not the government so we will wait for the High Court order,” he said. —

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
