Health scam: Bindal’s aide Prithvi Singh granted bail

A local court today granted bail to Prithvi Singh, an agent of Bioaide Corporation. He was arrested after a 43-second audio clip went viral in which former Director, Health Services, Dr Ajay Gupta, was demanding Rs 5 lakh as a bribe for supplying the order of PPE kits.
A close aide of former state BJP president Rajeev Bindal, Prithvi was arrested on June 6 by the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Prithvi had made the video which was made viral following a dispute over the amount of the bribe as he was offering Rs 3 lakh while Gupta was adamant on Rs 5 lakh.
At least three more recordings between the two were extracted from their cellphones and voice sample tests of both accused were conducted to match the voice with the audio at the State Forensic Science laboratory, Junga.
The wife of Dr Ajay Gupta also applied for the anticipatory bail in the case, which was rejected by the Special Judge (Forests) while another anticipatory bail application moved by the owner of the firm would come up for hearing on June 15.
