Himachal Pradesh is set to receive heavy rain for the next two days. The state’s Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Bilaspur, Una and Hamirpur districts and a yellow alert for heavy rain in Kangra, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur districts tomorrow. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to take place in Bilaspur, Una and Hamirpur, while heavy rainfall is also expected in the isolated areas of Kangra, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur districts.
An orange warning of heavy rain has also been issued for Una, Bilaspur, Kangra and Sirmaur districts and a yellow alert for heavy rain in Shimla, Hamirpur, Mandi and Solan districts on August 5.
The state will continue to experience light to moderate rain along with a few spells of heavy to very heavy rainfall till August 9. Also, the maximum temperatures are likely to fall by 2°C to 4°C in the next two to three days while the minimum temperatures are expected to remain normal.
Meanwhile, heavy rain at isolated places and light to moderate rainfall continued across the state during the past 24 hours. Bharari in Hamirpur district received the highest of 110 mm of rain, followed by Murari Devi in Mandi (80 mm), Naina Devi in Bilaspur (70 mm), Una (38 mm), Hamirpur and Chamba (18 mm each), Palampur (10.8 mm), Bhuntar (9.2 mm), Kangra (8.1 mm) and Shimla (5.4 mm).
