Heavy rain to continue across Himachal till September 14

Heavy rain is set to continue across Himachal Pradesh as state's Meteorological Department has issued an orange weather warning for Mandi, Kangra, Solan, Bilaspur and Hamirpur districts, Shimla town and its adjoining areas.

As per the department, heavy rain is very likely to continue in the state till September 14.

As many as 577 roads, including three National Highways (NHs), are still blocked across the state due to heavy rain.

As per the State Emergency Operation Centre, of the total 577 blocked roads, 213 roads, including NH-3 and NH-305, are blocked in Kullu district, 154 in Mandi, 72 in Shimla, 42 in Kangra, 30 in Chamba, 29 in Sirmour, 20 including NH-503A in Una, 19 in Solan, 14 in Bilaspur, two in Kinnaur and one in Lahaul and Spiti district.

Also, as many as 812 transformers, including 369 in Kullu, 245 in Mandi, 125 in Solan, 41 in Shimla, 27 in Chamba, four in Kinnaur and one in Lahaul and Spiti district, are disrupted in many areas of these districts, affecting the electricity supply.
