A total of 262 unemployed youth received job appointment letters at a job fair held on Wednesday, organised on the initiative of local MLA Malinder Rajan. While the event was expected to generate around 1,500 employment opportunities through the participation of several reputed multinational companies, only a limited number of firms attended and made final selections.
The job fair attracted candidates who had completed Class X, XII, ITI or diploma courses. Renowned companies such as JCB, Flipkart, Tech Mahindra, Hero Cycles, Metro Tyres, Havells and PepsiCo offered on-the-spot job letters for 170 different posts across various domains. Additionally, 92 candidates were selected through the employment exchange office for roles such as security guards and supervisors.
