Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will inaugurate the maiden Mata Chintpurni festival at the shrine on September 26.

Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said on Thursday, a lamp, lighted up with the shrine’s holy ‘jyoti’ will be carried in a procession to the fair’s ground in Amb, where the CM will install it as per the rituals.

He said the three-day fest would include spiritual preaching, cultural shows, sports events and exhibitions. “The CM will also be the chief guest at the first cultural night. The first such festival to be organised in the district, it will help in boosting religious tourism here,” he added.

The DC said Chairman of the HP Tourism Development Corporation, RS Bali, would be the chief guest at the cultural night on September 27, while Deputy CM will be the chief guest at the cultural night on the closing day on September 28. He said Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Babloo will be present on all days at the festival.
