Himachal CM to unveil Rani Lakshmi Bai’s statue

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will unveil the statue of Rani Lakshmi Bai installed in the new shopping complex near the bus stand during his two-day sojourn to the district on October 19 and 20. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Amarjit Singh. He said the CM would arrive here after the completion of the Kullu Dasehra festival on October 19. He would visit Dr Radhakrishanan Government Medical College to review the progress of development works of the college. He added that on October 20, the CM would lay the stone of the street food hub.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
