Himachal contingent leaves for Khelo India Games

Kullu, February 18

The Himachal contingent, including 51 sportspersons and 10 officials, left for the fourth edition of Khelo India Winter Games today, said Avinash Negi, Director of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS). The games are going to be held in Gulmarg from February 21 to 25.

The Director said the ABVIMAS coordinated the travel plan and bookings of the contingent and funds for the same were received from the Sports Authority of India.

He said the athletes were selected on the basis of their performance in the state-level winter sports tournament held last year. He said athletes would participate in Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, mountaineering and snowboarding events.
