Shimla, July 29
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today urged the Centre to expedite the release of money from the Rs 916.53 crore has been allocated by the Government of India under Jal Jeevan Mission for Himachal for the current fiscal year.
Agnihotri today met Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil at New Delhi today. He apprised Patil that though an amount of Rs 916.53 crore has been allocated for Himachal under Jal Jeevan Mission for the current fiscal, till date no funds have been released, resulting in hampering the progress of the ongoing works. Patil assured that they would consider all the issues discussed and placed before him sympathetically.
He emphasised that the 1st and 2nd tranche of instalment amounting to Rs 458.26 crore should be released soon. The Union Minister assured that he would look into the matter and funds would be released so as to ensure the completion of the ongoing schemes.
