The event began with a ceremonial parade, where the DGP took the salute after receiving a customary guard of honour. The audience was enthralled by a gripping demonstration by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), followed by lively cultural performances and the traditional Bada Khana.

Reiterating the importance of discipline in uniformed services, DGP Tiwari announced the sanctioning of uniforms for the battalion’s brass band and assured that barrack restoration would be taken up on priority.

The week-long celebrations leading up to the Foundation Day and Silver Jubilee included a wide range of activities — poetry recitation, a health and blood donation camp, an art exhibition-cum-workshop and a cleanliness drive. A particularly heartwarming highlight was the inauguration of a newly built children’s park, opened by the battalion’s own children.

Commandant Kushal Sharma, who steered the celebrations, expressed satisfaction over their success. On the penultimate day, the Harmony of Pines Band energised the audience with a vibrant live performance.
