Himachal Pradesh has carved a proud space on the global academic map with seven of its scientists — five from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) and two from Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) — being ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists in the prestigious Stanford-Elsevier list.
From CUHP, Prof Sandeep K Sood, Dr Manpreet Arora, Dr Rajesh Kumar Singh, Dr Deepak Pant and Dr Neeraj Gupta were felicitated by Vice-Chancellor Prof Sat Prakash Bansal, who lauded their groundbreaking research in fields ranging from computational modelling to environmental sustainability. “This recognition is a testimony to CUHP’s growing research culture and pursuit of global academic standards,” he said.
HPU too celebrated the achievement of Dr Baljit Singh, Professor of Chemistry, and Dr Suvarcha Chauhan, retired Professor of Chemistry, both of whom have made remarkable contributions in organic chemistry, polymer science, nanomaterials and drug delivery research.
