Himachal: Former Congress MLA from Karsog Mast Ram commits suicide

Mast Ram, former Congress MLA from Karsog assembly constituency in Mandi district allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a hotel room at Sundernagar in Mandi today.
According to the police, he reached at the hotel on Sunday night for staying overnight. Today, when he did not open the door of the room till noon, the hotel management got worried. They knocked the door but got no response.
Finally, the hotel manager informed the police, who reached the spot.
The door of room was forced opened and the former MLA was found hanging from the ceiling with a rope.
Confirming the incident, Sundernagar DSP Dinesh Kumar said the body was taken into custody by the police to conduct a post mortem examination,
A case has been registered and investigation was underway. Detailed information is awaited.
