Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and his wife Janaki Shukla on Monday filled out their forms under the Special Intensive Verification Campaign of the Electoral Roll during their visit to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
As part of the programme, they interacted with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and reviewed the ongoing verification work. The Governor appreciated the efforts of the election machinery in ensuring transparency, accuracy and inclusiveness in the voter registration process.
Addressing the gathering, Shukla said voters form the strongest pillar of democracy and the inclusion of every eligible citizen in the electoral roll is vital for strengthening the democratic process. He stated that the right to vote empowers citizens to shape the nation’s future and it is therefore essential that no eligible person is left out of the voter list.
The Governor urged all eligible citizens — especially youth, women and first-time voters — to take full advantage of the special verification campaign and ensure that their names are duly registered.
