Himachal Govt open to foreign universities in state
Shimla, February 23
The Himachal Government will pro-actively support the setting up of foreign universities and their collaborative partnership with universities in the state.
This was stated by Education Minister Rohit Thakur in reply to a resolution moved by Chaitanya Sharma raised during the last Assembly session. “The UGC has formulated a framework under which foreign educational institutions can set up off-campuses in India and also enter into collaboration with Indian universities,” said Thakur. He said Himachal Pradesh University had signed MoUs with four foreign universities.
