Himachal Panchayati Raj Minister distributes free medicines at health camp

Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh distributed free medicines worth Rs 10 lakh during a one-day free medical camp organised at Cheri Gram Panchayat in the Kasumpti Assembly Constituency on Tuesday. The camp, jointly hosted by Jan Vikas Samiti and Inner Wheel Club Midtown to mark their 25th anniversary, also featured a blood donation drive.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Minister Singh reiterated his commitment to the holistic development of his constituency. He said road infrastructure in the region has seen considerable progress and new road proposals have already been sent for Forest Rights Act (FRA) clearance. He added that FRA clearance for an Ayurvedic dispensary in Anu has been secured and the department concerned has been directed to speed up further implementation.

Singh said the state government was actively working towards a self-reliant Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted the implementation of Minimum Support Price for milk and the success of the Him-Ira brand, under which lakhs of rural women have found employment, thereby strengthening the local economy. He also emphasised the importance of holding such health camps regularly to bring healthcare services directly to the people’s doorstep.

More than 500 persons availed free medical services at the camp, including general consultations and specialised check-ups. Free eye examinations were conducted for children. The medical team included specialists in ophthalmology, general medicine and gynaecology, ensuring comprehensive healthcare coverage during the event.
