Sukhu highlighted the former Prime Minister’s achievements during his tenure, particularly in economic liberalisation, which boosted foreign investment and spurred growth. He also praised the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), which provided employment to the underprivileged and the enactment of the Right to Information Act, which ensured greater transparency in governance.

The Chief Minister concluded that Manmohan Singh’s legacy would live on through his exceptional contributions as an economist, politician and statesman.
