Himachal Pradesh Congress will suffer same fate as in Delhi elections, says Bindal
BJP state president Dr Rajeev Bindal today lashed out at the Congress-led state government and said that Congress in Himachal Pradesh would suffer the same fate as it suffered in Delhi Legislative Assembly elections due to its misgovernance and negligence of people.
While addressing a press conference here today, Bindal said that just as the people of Delhi rejected Congress, the people of Himachal Pradesh would also give a strong reply to the Congress government for its failures, corruption and mismanagement in the upcoming elections.
He said the mafia is flourishing in the state, particularly the illegal mining mafia. He alleged that Haryana’s crusher owners were exploiting the rivers of Himachal Pradesh, and the state government was turning a blind eye to the issue. He cited drone footage showing illegal mining activities in the Balad river, where several JCBs, poclains and trucks were operating and suggested that similar aerial surveillance should be conducted over the Markanda river also.
He further accused the Congress government of presenting fake employment figures and said that one minister claimed of providing 42,000 jobs, while the Chief Minister mentioned providing 13,704 jobs which shows how the government is misleading the people.
Bindal also claimed that while existing industries in the state are relocating, new industries are not emerging, which is impacting the state’s economy. He further said that the state government is deceiving unemployed youth in the state.
Bindal said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the central government has prioritised the development of Himachal Pradesh, while the Congress government remains focused on criticising the BJP. “The Congress government had only provided Rs 50,298 crore to Himachal Pradesh during its 10-year tenure, while the Narendra Modi-led government had allocated Rs 1,41,619 crore during its tenure. Additionally, in the 2025-26 fiscal year, the large tax benefits were given to the people of Himachal, directly benefiting about six lakh families,” he said.
Comparing the funds allocated to the state for the expansion of railways, Bindal said that the UPA government from 2009 to 2014 allocated Rs 108 crore to the state, while the Modi-led government provided Rs 1,838 crore between 2014 and 2024.
“In 2025, an allocation of Rs 2,696 crore has been made for Himachal’s railway development. Overall, the central government has provided Rs 4,536 crore for the state’s railway expansion, which is 45 times than the UPA government’s contribution,” he added.
