Himachal Pradesh likely to receive fresh snow, rainfall on Feb 4, 5
The higher and middle hills of the state will be receiving fresh snowfall, while the low hills and plains will be receiving rainfall for the next two days.
As per the State’s Meteorological Department, light snowfall at many places with isolated spells of moderate snowfall are very likely in Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti and over the higher reaches of Kangra, Chamba, Shimla, Mandi, Sirmaur and Kullu districts from February 4 and 5. Light rainfall will also occur in many places with isolated spells of moderate rainfall in remaining parts of Kangra, Chamba, Shimla, Mandi, Sirmaur and Kullu districts from February 4. Additionally, light rainfall over few places with isolated spells of moderate rainfall will occur in Solan, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Una.
Few spells of light snowfall with one or two moderate spells are likely over tourist destinations like Kufri, Narkanda, Manali, Solang Valley, Dalhousie and Sissu and adjoining areas with few spells of light rainfall over Shimla and adjoining areas. Weather will remain dry across the state on February 6 and 7.
Meanwhile, weather was mostly dry across the state during the past 24 hours. Minimum temperature in Shimla was 6.2 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 4.8 degrees Celsius, Manali 0.7 degrees Celsius, Solan 2 degrees Celsius, Dalhousie 7.6 degrees Celsius, Bilaspur 3.9 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 3.5 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 2.5 degrees Celsius, Kalpa minus 0.5 degrees Celsius, Una 2.2 degrees Celsius, Nahan 8 degrees Celsius, Kasauli 7.8 degrees Celsius, Kangra 5.6 degrees Celsius and Mandi 4.3 degrees Celsius.
With Una 25 degrees Celsius maximum temperature, Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district was the hottest place in the state, while Kukumseri village in tribal district Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest as it recorded minus 9.8 degrees Celsius minimum temperature.
