Himachal Pradesh, Unacademy sign MoU

Unacademy, one of the largest learning platforms of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government to identify and empower meritorious students from the state for competitive exams. As per the MoU, the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Himachal Pradesh, and Unacademy will conduct two aptitude tests over two years to identify 650 meritorious students and award them scholarship for competitive exam courses. Of 650 meritorious students, 500 girls from Hamirpur will get scholarship under Unacademy’s mega national program ‘Shikshodaya’.

ABVP holds silent protest

In a press conference held in Shimla on Thursday, the ABVP reiterated it would continue to protest until Lavanya, student of Tamil Nadu who allegedly died by suicide under pressure to change religion, was given justice. The ABVP held a silent protest at the Pink Petal Chowk of Himachal Pradesh University. It welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to hand over the inquiry into the case to the CBI.

Students unable to fill forms: SFI

The SFI has submitted a memorandum to the Controller of Examination stating that students have not been able to fill forms even though the portal was opened about one-and-a-half month ago. The SFI says that the Controller should fix the problems the students are facing and keep the portal open till all students fill the forms.
