The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has resumed bus services on four key routes on the strategic Aut-Luhri National Highway-305 passing through the scenic Jalori Pass in Banjar subdivision of Kullu district.

The bus services were disrupted for over three and a half months due to disasters triggered by heavy rain during the monsoon season. The resumption of services has brought relief to both tourists and the residents of 69 panchayats in remote Anni and Nirmand of the district.

The bus services on this highway via the Jalori Pass from the Banjar side were suspended in the last week of June due to landslides and damaged road, severely affecting connectivity between Kullu, Banjar, Anni and Rampur. However, following extensive repair and restoration efforts by the National Highways Authority of India, transportation services have been partially restored.

According to transport officials, four of the six official bus routes (Kullu-Anni-Bagasrahan, Kullu-Banjar-Dalash, Kullu-Anni-Rampur, Kullu-Banjar-Anni-Bagipul) through the Jalori Pass have now been reopened. Eight HRTC bus routes are currently operational.

The restoration of these routes has not only given significant logistical relief to locals, especially patients and students who frequently travel to the district headquarters, but also a major boost for tourism. Visitors can now travel from Aut to Banjar and the Jalori Pass and enjoy the majestic mountain landscapes once again.

Additional services, including the afternoon Kullu-Anni bus scheduled to depart at 1.40 pm, are expected to resume soon. However, the Kullu-Anni via Shush-Kothi route remains suspended due to the ongoing road repair work near Mashnu Nala and Shush-Kothi, where the road condition is still unsuitable for buses.

According to HRTC officials at Kullu, eight buses are now crossing the Jalori Pass every day. They added that the remaining two HRTC routes would also be resumed shortly, further improving connectivity in the region.
