Himachalis elated at seeing PM wearing Kulluvi cap in France
The pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi adorning a colourful Kulluvi cap has won the hearts of people in Himachal. The Prime Minister was seen wearing the Kulluvi cap during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to France.
Many BJP leaders, including Dharamsala MLA Sudhir Sharma, have profusely praises the Prime Minister for showcasing Himachal’s culture by choosing to wear the Kulluvi cap, but it is the social media post of Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh that is grabbing all attention. While posting a picture of the Prime Minister with the French President, Vikramaditya wrote that seeing him wear the cap made him proud like every other Himachali. Differences in political ideologies notwithstanding, it was a matter of pride for every Himachali, he added.
He said that he hoped that the Central Government would not met out a step-motherly treatment to Himachal and would provide financial assistance for the restoration of infrastructure damaged in the rain disaster.
The Prime Minister in the past also had worn the Himachali cap at major events. He had chosen Himachali handicrafts as gifts for the heads of states during his foreign visits. He had gifted Kangra miniature paintings, Chamba Rumal, Kullu and Kinnauri shawls to the heads of states during the G20 Summit that took place at Bali in November 2022.
Modi had remained the in-charge of the Himachal BJP for many years in the nineties and knows the state inside out. During visits to Himachal, he had expressed great liking for the pahari cuisine like Mandi’s ‘sepu vadi’.
