Renowned litterateur Rajendra Rajan, a native of Hamirpur district, was on Wednesday conferred with the prestigious Satchidanand Tripathi Srijan Samman at the 25th International Hindi Conference held in Bali.
The event, organised by Pandulipi Sanstha, was graced by Padma Shri awardee and noted social worker Dr Udayan from Bali, who presided as the chief guest. Rajan, a former Joint Director of the State Department of Information and Public Relations, was felicitated with a citation, a memento and a cash award for his outstanding contribution to Hindi literature. He hails from Balh village in Hamirpur.
Speaking to The Tribune over the phone from Bali, Rajan said the honour recognised his lifelong efforts to promote Hindi and enrich its literary legacy through his literary magazine Iravati.
Praising him, Dr Udayan remarked, “Rajendra Rajan is a respected and well-established name in the world of Hindi literature. His dedication and contributions to the language are truly admirable.”
On the occasion, a special poetry edition of Iravati magazine was also released. The conference saw participation from several eminent Hindi writers, including Dr Suman Bisht, Krishan Kumar Prajapati, Jai Prakash Singh, Ambika Chaturvedi, Ramkrishna Rajput, Dr Ratna Singh and Pushpa Joshi, among others.
