Hindu outfits call for Waqf Board dissolution

Hindu outfits held a protest march today against the construction of an illegal mosque in Mandi city. Saints and local residents took part in the march.

A protester alleged that in Himachal Pradesh, there was growing unrest due to encroachments by the Waqf Board. Locals expressed concern over the increasing presence of illegal immigrants, including Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, which they believed was impacting the demographic balance and local job opportunities.

“Residents are particularly alarmed by reports of illicit activities, including claims of illegal migrants luring local women. This has led to heightened tensions in the community, prompting calls for immediate government action,” he added.

The Hindu outfits urged the state government to dissolve the Waqf Board and frame a stringent policy to curb illegal activities. They later submitted a memorandum of demands to the Deputy Commissioner, Mandi.
