Hindu outfits protest against migrants in Dharamsala
The members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and local traders’ associations carried out a protest march in Dharamsala over the incident of unauthorised construction of a Masjid in Sanjauli area of Shimla.
The shopkeepers in Dharamsala kept their shutters down from 9am to 12pm to support the march. The protestors marched through the market raising slogans of ‘Hindu-Hindu Bhai Bhai’. The traders in the protest alleged that their business was getting affected due to presence of immigrants. Over the last few years, a large number of immigrants have come in Dharamsala and their antecedents are not known. They were doing business as street vendors and hitting the interests of local businessmen.
President of Dharamsala Vyopar Mandal Narendra Jamwal said due to these migrant traders, their business was getting ruined and. The state government needs to take strict action against them, Ravi Kumar, a businessman said. He added that he was surprised that most of the migrants coming here belong to belong to a particular community and are from big states of the country. They have also hijacked our local fairs, which is affecting business of locals here. There is always a danger of some untoward incident as well, he said.
