Solan, June 25
The historic state-level Shoolini fair, signifying devotion to Goddess Shoolini, began in Solan today, where Deputy Commissioner Kritika Kulhari offered prayers at the temple.
Owing to the pandemic, prayers were offered in a restricted manner and other celebrations have been done away with.
The fair marks the sojourn of the ruling deity of the area at her elder sister Goddess Durga’s temple, located in Ganj Bazaar. The palanquin of Goddess Shoolini was received by the DC at Ganj Bazar.
The fair was being live streamed for the second consecutive year to enable devotees to pay obeisance online.
The fair is usually marked by three-days of celebrations, and the whole town celebrates the pious occasion. As the fair sees a huge rush of people, the administration has banned all festivities.
