Hit by shooting stone, Ghaziabad pilgrim dies

A pilgrim from Uttar Pradesh was killed after being hit by a shooting stone on the Kinnaur Kailash Yatra route, the police said here yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Gaurav (31), son of Dalip Kumar Chaudhary and a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The police received information on Tuesday that one person was injured after being hit by a shooting stone between Maling Khata and Ganesh Gufa. A police team rushed to the spot and found him lying dead. The team with the assistance of a Quick Response Team and local residents recovered the body and later shifted it to the Regional Hospital, Reckong Peo.

The postmortem was conducted yesterday and later the body was handed over to the bereaved family members.
