The festival of Holi was celebrated by thousands of devotees with flowers and colours at Nurpur’s historical Brij Raj Swami temple. The two-day celebrations concluded on Sunday afternoon with an immense religious fervour and enthusiasm.

The temple is situated in the historical Nurpur Fort — a monument of the Archaeological Survey of India. The people of the lower Kangra region have deep faith in Lord Krishna.

Eminent folk singer Ishant Bhardwaj regaled the audience with his Pahari and devotional songs. His performance forced the gathering to dance on the thrilling Pahari songs.

Kangra Lok Sabha MP Rajiv Bhardwaj and local MLA Ranbir Singh Nikka also participated in the second day of festival celebrations. They extended their best wishes to the devotees on the occasion.

On the first day of the festival, Holi was celebrated with flowers on Thursday. Kunj Bihari, a famous Bhajan singer from Vrindavan recited hymns of Lord Krishna. The two-day Holi festivities were jointly arranged by the family of noted philanthropist of the area and former president of Nurpur Municipal Council, RK Mahajan, temple management committee and Raja Saheb Dussehra and Ramlila Club, Nurpur. Former local MLA Ajay Mahajan was present on the first day of Holi celebrations.
