Minister for Health and Family Affairs Dhani Ram Shandil yesterday said that the state government was according priority to the protection, education, training and holistic development of children. He added that every child, regardless of family background, deserved equal opportunity and dignity.
The minister said this while presiding over the closing ceremony of a three-day ‘’Children of the State Sports and Cultural Meet’’-2025. He appreciated the enthusiasm, talent, confidence and outstanding performances of the children in various events.
Shandil said the meet celebrated the dreams, courage and the positive spirit of children. “All child care institutions in the state are being strengthened with robust safety measures and improved facilities for health, education, skill development, sports and cultural activities. These efforts aim to ensure that children become self-reliant, capable and empowered to fulfil their aspirations,” he added.
He said the government’s vision was clear that every child should become self-dependent and confident enough to realise his dreams. “The government is committed to opening new avenues and opportunities for children. Continuous initiatives are underway to provide them with a safe environment, quality education, modern amenities, healthcare and platforms to excel in sports and cultural fields,” he added.
Deputy Mayor of Shimla MC Uma Kaushal, Director of Women and Child Development Department Pankaj Lalit and members of the Child Welfare Committee attended the event.
