Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner Dr Amit Kumar Sharma attended the closing ceremony of a 15-day horticulture training camp organised by JSW and Krishi Vigyan Kendra as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, he emphasised that the camp aimed to equip apple growers in Kinnaur with the latest horticultural techniques and tools to enhance productivity and sustainability.

Dr Sharma highlighted JSW’s efforts in selecting youth from underprivileged backgrounds in project-affected areas to provide them with skill development opportunities and improve their livelihoods. The training covered essential topics such as soil testing, pest management, disease prevention, beekeeping, pruning, nursery management and pollination. He noted that these initiatives would help small and marginal orchardists boost their income.
