Dharamsala, July 9

A day ahead of polling for Dehra bypoll, BJP candidate Hoshiyar Singh has alleged threat to his life. He has alleged that the Himachal Police personnel in civvies have been following him everywhere for the past three days.

Today, Hoshiyar Singh released a video showing his confrontation with the HP Police personnel who were following him. He could be seen threatening the police personnel that he would get them shot by the CRPF personnel deputed for his security by the Union Ministry of Home.

In the video, Hoshiyar Singh is seen aggressively stopping a vehicle in which some people were travelling. He alleges that these people are police personnel deputed by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to trail him. He is seen pulling out the occupants of the car and threatening them that he will get them shot by his security personnel.

Hoshiyar Singh alleged that the people following him were armed and were a threat to his life. The BJP top leadership in the state condemned the incident. State BJP president Rajeev Bindal in a statement issued alleged that the government was misusing the official machinery to threaten voters. “Armed police personnel following and trailing Hoshiyar Singh is a serious matter. The voters of Dehra should take note of the abuse of power by the state government in the byelections and vote to protect democracy,” he added. Meanwhile, the Congress did not react to the allegations levelled by Hoshiyar Singh.
