In a case exposing a calculated fraud, the Sadar police have booked a hotelier and her family members for cheating the Central Bank of India by forging a no-objection certificate (NOC) to reclaim mortgaged property and secure another loan.

Solan SP Gaurav Singh said a complaint was lodged by Vishwadeep Chauhan, senior branch manager of the Saproon-based Central Bank, alleging that Neeta Aggarwal, resident of Amar Hotel, had availed a Rs 50 lakh loan in the name of her firm. The leasehold property of Jitender Aggarwal was pledged as collateral.

However, the bank later discovered that a forged NOC on the bank’s letterhead, dated September 27, 2019, was used by the accused to falsely show the loan had been repaid. This fake document was submitted to revenue authorities to cancel the lease deed. Subsequently, the same property was re-pledged with the State Bank of India (SBI) to secure another loan of Rs 3.95 crore.
