House gutted in Manikaran village

A two-storey house was gutted in Deudhara village of Bhrain panchayat of Manikaran valley yesterday. A fire broke out in the house made of wood at 8 pm.

The villagers tried to extinguish the fire, which had immediately engulfed the entire house. However, the house turned to ashes. The fire extinguisher did not reach the spot on time due to the unmetalled road.

Kullu SDM Amit Guleria said 14 members of families of Revat Ram, Gitanjali and Raj Kumar were given blankets and ration for one month as instant relief.

He said the affected families were provided with Rs 10,000 each.

An arrangement was made to provide shelter to the victims, he said.
