Houses gutted by fire in Rohru, two families rendered homeless
Firefighters with the help of locals extinguished the flames after a few hours
Two families were rendered homeless after their multi-storeyed houses were gutted by fire that broke out at Gauna village in Rohru subdivision of Shimla district yesterday, officials said here today. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
The houses of Purushottam Bhawta and Harbans caught fire late Tuesday night. Locals tried to put out the fire and also informed the Fire Department. Two fire engines from Rohru were sent to the village and the firefighters with the help of locals extinguished the flames after a few hours. However, the houses were badly damaged by then.
Rohru SDM Dharmesh Kumar said that the exact cause of fire and the total loss suffered in the incident were being determined.
