The Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, NCC Directorate (DTE) was adjudged the best at the national-level Republic Day parade. Cadets from the NCC group state headquarters Shimla were also part of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, DTE, sharing the laurels this time. To encourage the spirit of adventure among cadets, the DTE conducted various competitions and activities. This included the firing drill, Thal Sena, Naval and Air force Sena camps, rock climbing and other adventure activities throughout the year in the region. The excelling cadets participated in the national-level competition in Delhi for the Republic Day parade, followed by a parade before the Prime Minister. “The NCC cadets from Himachal have limited facilities, but still they excel and prove their mettle due to their hard work and sincerity,” said Santosh Kumar, an NCC officer. The NCC DTE, Shimla, has been adjudged the best among these four states as well this year, which has brought laurels to Himachal, he added. The NCC cadets gave credit to Brig Rajiv Thakur and Col Sundet Shankta for motivating them to work hard.

School admission test on Feb 8

The examination for admission in Class IX in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Reckong Peo, in Kinnaur district for the session 2020-21 will be held on February 8. The examination will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on the school campus, said Principal Arun Kumar Srivastava. He said the entry pass had been sent to all applicants and in case someone had not receivedit, he could download it from www/nvsadmissionclassnine.in. Those who are unable to download the pass can visit the school on any working day and get the pass.

Nurpur School excels in Math Olympiad

Students of the CBSE-affiliated Noorpur Public School (NPS), Nurpur, have excelled in Mathematics Olympiad organised by the Himachal Pradesh Council for Science Technology and Envrionment (HIMCOSTE) at BTC Government Girls Senior Secondary School. As many as 96 students of 21 schools participated the event. Arishika of the NPS stood first in Junior Mathematics Olympiad whereas Ekansh Mahajan and Aditya Vasu were declared first and second in the senior Olympiad, respectively. Eitish and Lalit Dogra stood second and third, respectively, in senior secondary Mathematics Olympiad. Arvind Dogra, Managing Director of the school, felicitated the winners.

Science Olympiad result declared

The much-awaited result of the Science Olympiad was declared at Indus Global School on Monday. Like every year, students performed exceedingly well. Sanvi of Grade-I, Roopwant Singh of Grade-II, Aarna Dubey of Grade-III, Parnika Sharma of Grade-IV, Tanish Shekhar of Grade-V, Tanish Mrigpuri of Grade-VI, Anant Kaur of Grade-VII, Harshad Singh Chandel of Grade-VIII, Arnav Arora of Grade-IX, Vanshika Bhardwaj of Grade-X bagged gold medals. Aadish Minhaas of Grade-IV, Suryansh and Gyan Singh of Grade-V, Abhinav Sharma of Grade-VI, Mannat Thakur of Grade-VII, Akshat Verma of Grade-VIII got silver medals. Purva Thakur of Grade-IV, Vani Pathania of Grade-V, Anikait Sharma of Grade-VI, Manya of Grade-VII, Kusha Sharma of Grade-VIII bagged bronze medals. Kavya Rajneesh Jaswal of Grade-V, Vanshika of Grade-VII, Rishabh Puri of Grade-VIII got medals of distinction at the zonal level. Principal Madan Lal congratulated the winners and motivated them to participate enthusiastically in such academic activities.
