Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, has decided to extend the deadline for admissions in undergraduate (UG) courses in all government and private colleges affiliated to the university to July 7.
Vice-Chancellor Mahavir Singh said, to benefit students who could not apply for admissions in UG courses in the 2025-26 academic session due to unavoidable reasons, the university had decided to approve the extension of the deadline. Admissions in all courses should be ensured as per the rules outlined in the prospectus of the ordinance college of HPU, and the guidelines issued from time to time, he added.
The university has also extended the last date for filling online admission forms for admissions to entrance test-based courses, including MSc (data science and artificial intelligence); merit-based courses; and short term/add-on/skill development certificate courses for the 2025-2026 academic session to July 1. Earlier, aspirants had been demanding that the university authorities extend the deadline as they could not apply in time due to various reasons, such as delay in results. They said thousands across the state had not been able to fill the admission forms by the prescribed date, and needed another chance to get admissions in HPU.
