Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, has been selected for the prestigious BR Ambedkar Grant for Legal Aid and Awareness under the nationwide Vidhi Vimarsh initiative. The university is among a select group of institutions chosen from over 30 participating law schools across India for the current cycle.

According to an HPNLU spokesperson, the achievement was secured under the leadership of Prof Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU. The university’s Legal Aid Clinic, chaired by Dr Chandreshwari Minhas, played a key role in obtaining the grant through its consistent efforts in advancing legal aid, community outreach and awareness.

The Vidhi Vimarsh initiative seeks to strengthen the legal aid framework in law schools and foster an ecosystem of accessible justice. The BR Ambedkar Grant is awarded to institutions that demonstrate exceptional commitment to legal literacy, access to justice for marginalised groups and impactful legal aid projects.
