The Clinical Legal Education Centre of HPNLU, Shimla, conducted a workshop titled ‘Chargesheet under the BNSS, 2023: Practice and Procedure’ on Thursday. The session formed an integral component of the HPNLU Trial Advocacy Competition-2025 and aimed at equipping students with practical, procedural and field-based insights into the criminal justice system.
The workshop was graced by Advocate Kapil Mohan Gautam, District Attorney, Shimla, who served as the subject expert for the session. His detailed deliberations on the structure, preparation and legal significance of a chargesheet under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, provided participants with valuable exposure to the real world prosecutorial processes. He further engaged with the students on emerging procedural standards and the evolving investigation-to-trial framework under the new criminal law regime.
“The event reaffirmed HPNLU Shimla’s commitment to fostering experiential learning and strengthening students’ advocacy skills through interactive academic-professional collaborations,” said the HPNLU spokesperson.
